I'm having a bummer of a night/day/week/month. I don't know if it's just me unwillingly regaining my ability to remember dreams (I trained that bitch real hard for a good number of years between '05 and '12 or so until I changed my mind and realised I didn't want to remember no fucking dream anymore), or if indeed they have been getting wilder lately, but that's definitely how it feels. Dreams (and sleep) were an obsession of mine for the longest time until I realised in my mid-20s that they fucking suck whether they're good (because being dreams their goodness appears to waking-life me as mocking) or bad (because they're unpleasant and interrupt whatever few hours of sleep I can get). From then on I've been virtually dreamless and glad but lately they impose themselves on me hard enough that I can't help but remember them again. It's pretty crazy. Wonder if there's a purely physiological reason for it. Maybe all the depression and vague unwellness (and potential testicular cancer) are fucking with my hormones and making me have more intense dreams.

I'm gonna have to convince a friend who lives nearby to go with me to get a doctor's appointment. Not for moral support, rather for something far dumber. My executive dysfunction is so strong that unless something NEEDS to be done, that is, unless it turns into a responsibility, I simply can't be arsed. Since I don't feel like it's a responsibility for me to get medical help (because fuck this body and fuck being alive), if I get him in on it then it'll become a "thing" and I'll be able to pull myself out of complacency and finally get an appointment. Once the appointment is made, then it becomes a responsibility and the rest will come easily to me. Man, who knew that pathologically low self esteem could be so cumbersome.
As a sidenote, this friend, my oldest, lost his mother about a year before I lost mine. They had the same first name, and died in the same hospital. Life's funny that way.

Tonight I made the most wonderful stew I've made in years. I'm so proud of it. Nothing fancy, doesn't even have meat in it but it came out exactly as I needed to start the winter season right. It'll last me until Monday I reckon. So tasty, so spicy, so nutritive. If only I had had some green onions, one or two different kinds of squash, it would've been perfect. I was tempted to add some rice but there was not enough room in the pot.

Last week: We ran out of money, I ran out of anti-anxiety medication AND sleeping aids, I did a false move and compressed a lower-back hernia that pinched a sciatic nerve and had me stiff in pain for a whole day.
